Hogwarts Age

- Rosie -

"I just wanted to see what was going on," I whispered back, creeping against the side of the train and making my way to the front. The express was stranded in the middle of a vast plain, where the horizon was dusted with just the faintest hint of sunlight. "If they won't give us answers, I'll find them myself."

The closer I got to the engine car, the more tension seemed to accumulate in the air. I froze when I heard a hushed yet troubled whisper: "He's dead."

Astra~
"Point taken" I say following behind her to the engine car. I freeze looking at Rosie as I hear the whisper as well. My face paled a bit, well shit...

- Rosie -

My breath was caught in my throat, and I felt myself growing dizzy. Dead? Who was dead? I thought frantically.

"The walls have a thin coating of ice on them as well. Did you notice anything, or anybody, suspicious recently, Cairus?"

The man being spoken to answered shakily, evidently holding back tears. "A shadow of a figure. But that's all."

~Aldrich~
I walked out into the hall, my wand giving off a powerful orb of light. "Rosie? Astra? What's going on?"

~Aithne~

I smiled at Katherine, thankful for the light. I pulled Cocoa into my lap, covering her with part of my blanket to try and calm her down.
"I wonder what's wrong," I thought out loud, looking out the window.

~Judal
At last, we were here. I'd slept most of the train ride, the exhaustion of jet lag overcoming me. But now I was refreshed, at least for the next few hours, and ready to see which of the first years would be sorted into Ravenclaw.

~Adrian~

After trekking around, I spot some other 6th years huddled around. "What's up?" I whispered.

( Elsa? Is it you? )

Astra-
I look back at Adrian holding a finger to my lip to signify for him to be quiet. I was trying to listen and figure out what was going on here

~Aldrich~
I held my wand close to me as it shined light throughout the corridor. Upon seeing Astra's sign, I stilled myself to hear better what was going on.

~Teagan

I began to awaken, noticing that sleep had overtaken majority of my compartment. Class was slowly waking up her self, unlike.... I jerked up, realizing I had been asleep-and left drool-on Spider's shoulder. I noticed it was quite dark, but we weren't moving....
Something is wrong...
I signaled to Cass to be quiet before getting up see what was going on.

~Judal
I notice something is wrong.

~Cass~

I nodded and stood up with Teagan, placing the now sleeping Misty back in her basket, before following her off the train.

-Katherine-

"I'm not sure," Katherine said. She positioned herself closer to the door. "Just... Just stay behind me, okay? And have your wand out."

~Adrian~

I anxiously wait for Hermy to respond because we kinda need her now.

- Rosie -

"We have to get the students safely to the school." This voice belonged to a woman. "We can further investigate this situation later. . . For now, we must think of our priorities."

I held my breath as I felt the temperature decrease even further, the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end. My eyes went between my classmates frantically as I felt more and more anxious by the second. "Let's go back," I whispered suddenly, grip tightening on my wand. "I feel like something's wrong."

~Aithne~

I nodded, grabbing my wand and pulling it out of my pocket. I tucked Cocoa in the blanket and stood next to Katherine at the door.
"Do you feel it getting colder?" I whispered, a shiver going through me.

~Teagan

I made it about halfway down the hall before I saw quite a few others huddling around the front of the train. They were pale, lifeless, terrified; almost as if they had seen the ghost of someone they love.

I looked to Cass. "Go back, okay? I'll meet you back there. Everything's okay, I promise," I smiled half-heartedly, trying to reassure her.

Astra-
I nod in agreement.
"Yeah whatever this is we probably don't want to be associated with it" I admit gripping my wand tightly.

- Rosie -

I tucked my wand back into my pocket shakily as I began to walk back towards the door from which we exited. As I hoisted myself up to climb back into the car of the train, I could see that the lights were dimly lit, and the hall was alive with the faint murmuring of other students.

"Students, please remain within your compartments until given further notice," one of the men who was patrolling the corridors when I was attempting my escape announced. He was russet-haired with a whiskered neck, a bit heavyset and cloaked in red. "There's nothing to worry about. . . Hush, hush. . ."

My jaw clenched as I located the nearest compartment, briefly glancing behind me to see if the others had followed. Something just isn't right. What are they hiding?

Astra-
I follow Rosie into the compartment. "Well looks like once again we won't have a normal year" I say with a slight grin

~Aithne~

"What's happening out there?" I asked when Rosie came back, noticing how worried everyone looked.

~Cass~

I nodded, a little bit scared about this whole situation and went back to sit in the compartment, shivering from the cold.

~Teagan


I took it into my own hands to wander around a bit, trying to listen in on various conversations from students and adults, alike. It seemed no one truly knew what was going on; however, it also seemed those who did, would guard the secret with their lives.

~Aldrich~
"This always seems to happen to us," I said as I went into the compartment.
